What is tamales?

Tamales (Spanish: tamal, English: tamale, Nahuatl: tamalli), also translated as Damal, Mexican rice dumplings, is a traditional food in Central America. Made of masa or dough (usually corn-based starch) wrapped in corn husks or the rinds of banana leaves and steamed, the rinds discarded before eating. Tamales can be filled with meat, cheese, fruit, vegetables, peppers or any pre-made food to taste.

Because tamales are very similar to Chinese rice dumplings, they are often translated as Mexican rice dumplings in the Chinese character culture circle. On the contrary, some regions familiar with tamales sometimes translate zongzi as “Chinese tamale” (English: Chinese tamale, Spanish: Tamales chinos).

Also, YC-168 can be equipped with double filling device to produce foods with multiple fillings. Or, users can apply a solid filling device to filled salted egg yolks, berries, nuts and other solid ingredients. Another filling device is jam feeder. A Jam filling feeder can be installed to filled custard, jam and other molten and fluid fillings to stuffed foods.
